Reunion Planning Guide

  1. Form your reunion committee.
  2. Be sure you've notified the SVT Alumni Reunion Committee of your reunion planning leader.
  3. When it comes time to post your reunion information on websites, in newspapers and/or in on local access television, do not post your email address, instead post http://www.shawsheenalumni.com. This is also extremely helpful in the case that you are not able to plan your next reunion. You can simply notify the Reunion Committee of the change and now the next reunion planner will have a great place to start!
  4. Contact the Reunion Committee for your class lists, updated information on classmates, and for help and support! You may also refer to your yearbook to gather a list.
  5. Input your updated classmates information into the contacts list in your new designated e-mail.
  6. If you have a member of your reunion committee that can create a Facebook-Myspace page designated for your graduating class, this has also been a productive way to group your class, find other classmates and keep them updated with the reunion progress.
  7. In each of your contacts be sure to remind all of those you contact to update their alumni profile at http://www.shawsheenalumni.com/
  8. Send out a greeting to your class! "Hi this is your reunion planners……"
  9. Send out a poll to your class to help determine the best results and turnout for your reunion.
  10. Send out a "missing classmates" list and ask everyone for any information on how or where you might be able to locate them.
  11. Look for a location to hold your reunion. (Please refer to the Resource and Tips list)
  12. Look for a DJ and caterer one is needed. (Please refer to the Resource list)
  13. Once the hall has been secured, send out save the dates cards. This will be a good guide to see how many get returned to you due to bad contact information.
