HOF - Criteria

The SVTHS Alumni Hall of Fame Committee will be accepting applications and deciding upon the nominations, criteria, by-laws, and banquet event protocol.

Eligibility:

  • Nominees MUST have attended SVTHS
  • Nominees MUST have been graduate for a minimum of 5 years
  • A Nominee must be of good character and reputation.
  • Nominee may be living or deceased

Criteria:

  1. Service to Community and/or Society
    • Contributions made through good works or charitable beneficence
  2. Service to Country
    • Must have a honorable discharge
  3. Athletic Achievement
    • The nominee's accomplishments as a SVTHS athlete as determined by athletic prowess combined with sportsmanship, statistical records or the number of and stature of awards received
    • Distinctive or unique accomplishments which attracted attention or acclaim to the nominee or SVTHS
    • Any athlete that has at least one varsity letter
  4. Contributions to Shawsheen Valley High School
    • Scholarships
    • Offering Co-ops for students
  5. Professional Achievements and success in trade, business, or industry

Faculty Nominations:

  1. In the event that a teacher, administrator, or other support staff is nominated, a special award will be presented to the inductee. Please use the following criteria.
    • A nominee may be a retired or present staff member, living or deceased.
    • Has demonstrated character and acted as a positive role model.
    • Has positively impacted students.
    • Has respect of colleagues
    • Has distinguished himself/herself by outstanding achievements and contributions.
  2. In the event that a coach is nominated, nominate using the following criteria:
    • A coach may be retired or presently coaching, living or deceased.
    • Has distinguished himself/herself by demonstrating exceptional leadership, character, sportsmanship, and athletic achievement.
    • Has coached the same sport for more than five full seasons and has maintained a positive image with SVTHS.
    • Success may not necessarily be measured by wins or losses but may be determined by the degree of respect earned by the person or program.
